The 5 Biggest Announcements From Apple’s “Hey Siri” Event

Apple announced A TON of new products yesterday at their “Hey Siri” event in San Francisco.

Let’s jump right in:

1. iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plusiphone-6s-plus-screen

The latest generation of Apple’s smartphone: The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The new phones keep the same look as last year’s iPhone 6 models with 4.7- and 5.5-inch displays, respectively. New additions include: Apple’s powerful, new A9 chip, 3D Touch display, a 12MP camera with 4K video recording capabilities, an always-on voice detection via Siri, and 4 color options: silver, gold, space grey, and rose gold. 2. iPad Pro

Apple also announced their largest tablet, ever: the iPad Pro. Featuring a 12.9-inch Force Touch display, new A9X system-on-a-chip, stylus (the Apple Pencil), keyboard, and full multitasking for applications, this iPad is a beast!

3. iPad Mini

Apple also announced that the iPad Mini would get a nice upgrade and price drop. Now starting at $399, the iPad mini 4 is now powered by an Apple A8 system-on-a-chip, and will support iOS 9’s split view, allowing two apps to run side by side.

4. Apple TV

new-apple-tv-stageApple is completely revamping the Apple TV, it’s first major product overhaul since 2010. Maintaining the same shape,  the new Apple TV comes along with a bright new interface, universal search, and support for third-party apps. It also comes along with a new, motion-sensitive Bluetooth remote with both a touchpad and buttons, including one for activating Siri.

 

 

5. iOS 9

Apple said that iOS 9 will arrive on Wednesday, September 16. It will bring with it a more intelligent Siri, revamped search, a new, iCloud-powered Notes app, and several notable under-the-hood improvements.
